NoGi Jiu Jitsu combines the practices of traditional wrestling with the techniques of BJJ. Although a student can easily adapt most Gi techniques to NoGi training, the NoGi practitioner must learn how to control their opponent without the use of the Kimono. Stripping the practitioner of Gi allows for a more fast paced game, which demands speed and control from both participants. Furthermore, this game is easily translatable to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) practice and competition. The uniform for this class is no gi shorts or similar shorts with no pockets or hard plastic/metals attachments. A rashguard or form fitting top is used. Loose fitting clothing is not allowed because fingers and toes can easily become tangled causing injuries.
